Judith B. Forrester's Obituary
Judy Forrester died on July 23, 2012. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 24, 1944 to Robert and June Barlow. After high school, Judy moved to New York City to find adventure. While in New York, she met and married her husband, Maurice Forrester. After returning to Oklahoma with Maurice, they settled in Broken Arrow and were blessed with three daughters, Anne, Julie, and Jean. While raising the girls, Judy attended college to become a teacher and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Education. Judy loved teaching Second Grade and Art at Vandever Elementary School in Broken Arrow, where she made many life-long friends. She was also an active member of Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Her passion throughout her life was gardening and she became an Oklahoma Master Gardner in 2011. Judy often talked about finding peace while working in her garden and while spending time with family and friends. Judy is survived by her husband, Maurice, who she was married to for 47 years, and her three daughters, Anne, Julie, and Jean, and eight grandchildren, William, Sean, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Robert, Catherine, Ross, and Ryann. Judy is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Barlow (of Atlanta, Georgia) and her brother, Jim Barlow (of Missoula, Montana). Judy will be missed by the many that she touched over the years, especially her family.
