Judith Tarr's Obituary
Judith Ann Tarr (D’Alesio), a woman of radiant spirit and boundless energy, passed away peacefully in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on April 11, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by members of her family.
Born on July 16, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Liberatore and Clara D’Alesio, Judy was
raised in the close-knit community of Mingo Junction. Her life changed forever following a high school football game, when a blind date arranged by a friend introduced her to Eddy Tarr. That meeting sparked a devoted romance that would span more than six decades. Judy and Ed were married on July 24, 1965. Following Ed’s graduation from dental school, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to begin their life together.
Judy was the heart of her home, celebrated for her grace and charm that were evident to all. In 1963, she was crowned Miss Newark, Ohio, and later competed in the Miss Ohio pageant, where her vibrant personality earned her the title of Miss Congeniality.
Beyond her titles, Judy was defined by her spirited disposition. Truly the life of every party, she is remembered for her infectious laugh and radiant smile that could light up any room.
She was a woman of many talents—an avid reader, a gifted hostess, a stylish decorator, and a master baker. Judy also possessed a legendary eye for a bargain, finding genuine joy in the simple thrill of a great find.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Daniel Edward Tarr.
Judy’s legacy of love continues through her children and grandchildren: her daughter Tracey Persons and husband Matt, with their children Danielle and Nathan; her son Steve Tarr; her daughter Christy Tubbs and husband Corbin, with their children Caty, Carson, and Christian; and her son Daniel Tarr and wife Hannah, with their son Ellis.
A celebration of Judy’s remarkable life will be held on July 18th at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Her family invites all who knew her to join them in sharing the joy she brought to the world
