Julia Katherine Taylor's Obituary
Julia Taylor, age 79, a longtime resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Julia was born on October 21, 1946, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Dorvell Wesley and Katherine Eugenia (Summers) Tabb. Julia was a school teacher for many years, and a favorite among the students. She also invested time teaching in behavioral needs schools, providing an extra dose of patience and care to kids who needed it most. Her time and attention was a positive impact on hundreds of kids. Julia loved God deeply, and cherished time with family. She especially adored her grandchildren and made every effort to stay actively involved in their lives. She attended their activities, played games with them, and could often be found roller skating or jumping on the trampoline right alongside them. Julia took great joy in learning everything she could about each of them, simply loving being present in their world. She even took notes so she wouldn’t forget the stories they shared. She was their biggest fan in every sense of the word. Julia also enjoyed supporting her community and spending time with and serving her friends and family. Known for her oft-praised bright red hair and joyful, kind, and caring spirit, she loved to dance, and we should find comfort in knowing she is now praising God and dancing in heaven. Julia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Corey Taylor, and his wife, Andrea, and their children, Sydney, Owen, Wyatt, and Landon of Virginia; by her daughter, Amanda, and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Taylor, Hayden, and Maverick of Tulsa; as well as her brothers, Winston Tabb and Ed Tabb, and her sisters, Janie Trotter and Joyce Clement. Her love, faith, and joyful presence will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
