June Evelyn Carter's Obituary
June Evelyn Carter, 88, of Tulsa, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born March 14, 1933, in Dawson, Oklahoma to Clifford and Glenna Gravitt. She grew up attending White City Baptist Church and served for many years at First Baptist Tulsa and Skelly Drive Baptist Church. June was an enthusiastic gardener and loved cooking, sewing, and crafts. Many holidays would include her hand made decorations, wonderful homemade cooking, and her amazing pumpkin or cherry pies. All who knew her, knew of her love and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister Maxine Cudd. June is survived by her husband George L. Carter, Jr of 66 years, her twin sister JoAnn Fleming of Tulsa, sons Paul Carter of Broken Arrow, Daryl Carter of Tulsa, and daughter Carolyn Canfield of Jenks, plus 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held to celebrate June’s life at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 S 129th East Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
