June Louise Hampton's Obituary
June Louise Hampton was born on May 18, 1927 in Davenport, Oklahoma, the daughter of George Eli Young and Delilah Elizabeth (Arnold) Young. She grew up in Cleveland, Oklahoma and her family later moved to Jenks, where she graduated from high school in 1945 as class salutatorian and football queen. She married Thomas Marion Hampton, Jr. on March 17, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Jenks. June and Tom’s three children were born in Tulsa and made their home there until 1960 when the family moved to Broken Arrow. After her children were grown she worked for several companies as an accounting clerk; she retired from Flintco in 1990. She died on October 10, 2014 in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents in 1997 and 1998, and by her husband in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hampton, Tulsa, and two sons, David Hampton, Tulsa, and John Hampton and his wife Jamie, Plano, Texas, four granddaughters, Lindsay, London, Brooklyn and Eden Hampton of Plano, her sister Sue Ellingsworth of Tulsa, sisters-in-law LaVerna Worthan, Jenks, Patricia Winkle, Jenks, Minnie Hampton, Broken Arrow, and brother-in-law Marvin Hampton and his wife Linda, Jenks. She will be buried by her husband in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. At her request, no services will be held. Her family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus at Tulsa and Grace Hospice for their many kindnesses.
