Kaitlyn Marie Finnegan's Obituary
Kaitlyn Finnegan. Finnegan Kaitlyn Marie, 18, passed away Saturday, April 4th, 2009. She was born January 10th, 1991, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at St. Francis hospital to James Jr. and Jeanne (Young) Finnegan. She was a senior at Bishop Kelly High School in Tulsa. She was a member of Bishop Kelly state champion soccer team freshman and sophomore year. She played soccer for the majority of her life. She was also a member of the Tulsa Hurricanes travel team. She was a beloved volunteer at German Shepherd Rescue and was passionate enough that she adopted a rescued German Shepherd whom she named Barry. Barry was Kaitlyn’s best friend. She was a loving and caring daughter, friend and niece. She was taken from us at far too early of an age and will be missed by all who knew her and were touched by her. She was to graduate in May 2009 and attend Tulsa Community College in Tulsa and then transfer to Oklahoma State University and pursue a degree in pre-law. Kaitlyn enjoyed soccer, Mizzou football, Tulsa Oilers, Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with friends. Kaitlyn is survived by her parents and her younger brother, Kevin (14). She is survived by her maternal grandparents, Harvey and Karen Young of Tulsa, her paternal grandparents James Sr. and Joanne Finnegan of Bloomington, IL, Uncle Mark and Aunt Amy Young of Kansas City, KS, Uncle John (Jack) and Aunt Melinda Finnegan of Columbia, MO, Uncle John and Aunt Marguerite (Peg) Kuntz of Bloomington, IL, Uncle Stephen and Aunt Mary Sobotta of Boiling Springs, PA, Uncle Tom and Kathleen Conklin of Elmwood, IL, Uncle Patrick Finnegan of Bloomington, IL, by her cousins Nick Sobotta (17), Allie Kuntz (16), Andrew Kuntz (14), Matthew Sobotta (13), Robby Kuntz (13), Katherine Sobotta (11), Maggie Kuntz (10), Dakota Young (9), Margaret Sobotta (8), Connor Finnegan (7), Lance Young (6), Eileen Conklin (4), Madeline Conklin (3), Cecelia Conklin (2). The funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 8th at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tulsa at 1727 South 75th East Avenue with Father Mike and Father O’Brien officiating. A burial/internment will follow at the Floral Haven Cemetery at 6500 South 129th East Avenue in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Kaitlyn Finnegan Memorial Fund at any Bank of Oklahoma branch, which will be donated to Bishop Kelly High School.Survived By:
