Karan Cox's Obituary
Karan Cox, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on August 19, 1947, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Geneva May. Karan married the love of her life, Monte Cox, on March 27, 1967, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a devoted wife and mother, known for her selflessness and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Karan had a zest for life and cherished spending time at the lake, where she found peace and joy riding in the boat visiting with friends and family. Karan worked at Lowrance Electronics for 26 years where she gained many lifelong friends. Her caring nature and compassionate spirit knew no bounds, and she was always there for everyone, often putting others' needs before her own. Her warm and welcoming nature endeared her to many, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Karan loved her trips to Arizona and Kansas to visit with her aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
In her later years, Karan had the opportunity to embark on a couple of cruises, where she created cherished memories and enjoyed the beauty of the world around her.
Karan is survived by her loving husband, Monte Cox; son, Dennis Cox, and his wife, Christy; daughter, Alice Cox; sister, Linda Mead; nephew Billy Mead and wife Heidi, great-nephew Dillon Mead, great-niece Hadley Mead and many other friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gearald May; mother in-law Alice Widows; sister in-law Paula Shaw; brother in-law Bill Mead; nephews Bryan Mead and David Nairemore.
Karan's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
