Karen Bean's Obituary
Karen Royce Bean, 81, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. She was born June 17, 1939 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to her parents, J. D. Royce and Toni Bertoni Royce. She married the love of her life, George Bean on February 14, 1976 in Houston, Texas and they have shared in over 44 wonderful years together.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, George Bean; two sons, Joel Bean of Honolulu, Hawaii and Jeff Bean of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Lee Cates and his wife Linda of Norman, Arkansas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one niece; three nephews; and many friends and extended family members.
Karen was an RN/PA, graduating from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Tucson, Arizona in 1962. She was a two-year graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center. She was an ordained Minister who worked tirelessly in over 47 countries as both a medical missionary as well as a noted Bible teacher and church leader. Along with her husband George, she co-founded Nation to Nation, a missions service agency which served Missionaries in the field with all their state-side service needs.
She was on staff at Grace Fellowship with Pastor Bob Yandian for 10 years; was on the Tulsa Mission Board; was on the Missions Committee and Hospital Visitation Team for Cedar Ridge Christian Church; on the Missions Committee for The Bridge Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and was a member of the Red Cross Disaster Relief Group.
She also was the Author of “A Comprehensive Guide to Missions” which was an authoritative book for Mission Trip Organizers as well as Mission Team Members.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Floral Haven's Rose Chapel with Chaplain Christy Moss officiating. ***Services will be live streamed starting at 1:45 p.m. on 7/17/2020.
