Karen Sue Ferguson's Obituary
Karen Sue Ferguson was born in Emporia, Kansas on July 2nd, 1950 to Kenneth and Evelyn Harlan. Karen had two younger sisters, Brenda and Peggy. She graduated high school in May 1968 and married Bob Ferguson on June 1, 1968. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Darren and a daughter, Pam.The last few years, Karen has had a successful career as a realtor with Coldwell Bankers. In her free time she enjoyed playing the piano, gong to the movies, reading, and going on trips. She was active at First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow and was a member of John Chennault’s Sunday school class. Karen said her most peaceful time was when she was in her home or at her church and that her life-changing experience was when she accepted the Lord as her Saviour because He died for her on the cross and forgave all her sins.Karen was a strong, independent woman who fought her battle with cancer till the day she died. She was a wonderful influence on her children and grandchildren and she will be missed by all. How thankful they are that she now resides in her Heavenly Home with a strong and healthy body free of pain and struggling.She is survived by her son Darren Ferguson, her daughter Pamela Ferguson, her grandchildren Lauren Ferguson and Tyler Ferguson, her sisters Brenda Smith and Peggy Manfield, and her father Kenneth Harlan.She preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Louise (Peace) Harlan.Viewing will be held Tuesday, March 12th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 13th at the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 14th at Maplewood Memorial Lawn in Emporia, Kansas.
