Karen Isley's Obituary
Karen Isley, age 78, passed away on June 10, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 17, 1947, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Peter Anthony DeMonte and Lillian Louise DeMonte (Wassom).
Karen graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1965. She went on to build a career with American Airlines, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. On October 27, 1967, she married the love of her life, Mike Isley, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting friendships, and were blessed with one son, Michael.
Karen was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and carried her heritage with pride. She was known for her warm, outgoing personality—she never met a stranger. Karen had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy to those around her. She was a talented seamstress who loved to sew, an excellent cook, and especially enjoyed baking desserts for family and friends. She had a deep love for cats and treasured her furry companions throughout her life.
Karen maintained many lifelong friendships from her high school years and cherished the time she spent visiting and staying connected with them. Above all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring presence to all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Mike Isley; her son, Michael Isley; her cherished cat, Myra; her sister, Sharon Anderson; her brother, Pete DeMonte; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lillian DeMonte, and her beloved cat, Pearl, who was by her side for 23 years.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., with graveside services to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Masonic.
Karen will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the love she shared so freely.
A visitation will take place at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16th, from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, June 17th, at 12:30PM in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services at 1:30PM in the Masonic Garden.
