Karen was incredibly brave and upbeat in spite of the MCL that just wouldn’t leave her alone. I’m making a donation in her honor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
I didn't know Karen as well as I would have like to. My husband and I moved into The Oak at Park Grove in 2019. We got a chance to visit some before the Pandemic hit and we were all hiding in our houses. But, we used to visit outside whenever we saw each other. About the time life was starting to get back to "normal", Ed and Karen decided to move to their new house. I kept in touch with them via texts and phone calls. I was devastated when I was told she was sick again. My limited time knowing Karen does not in any way diminish what a special person I felt her to be. I already knew she was strong and courageous....a real fighter. She fought hard to stay here but sadly she lost the battle. She will be missed by so many. What a wonderful, special lady.....Shirley and Dave Cleveland
Karen was a light in the darkness. Her laugh was genuine and from the heart. She was the most gracious, warm hostess in her home and I always laughed til I cried when visiting in Karen and Ed’s home. Karen was one of those exceptional people, when you meet them for the first time, you never forget them. I will remember her loving spirit, and my heart is with my dear friend Ed and their family and friends. Rest now Karen. 💛
