Karen Ann Starr's Obituary
Karen A. Starr, age 69, graduated from earth to heaven on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Karen was born April 19,, 1955 to Henry and Orlene Stone in Tulsa, OK. Karen married her soulmate, Emmitt Starr, on July 2, 1995. Her children Jerry and Jennifer McCroskey, Farrah and Matthew Seay, Desiree and PK Keomany, grandchildren: Deston Seay, Braylon Keomany, Kylon Keomany, Harley Seay, Jakob Seay, Jaylon Keomany, Triston Seay, Starrlet Seay, and Kayler Seay and her fur baby Ziva on earth will deeply miss her. Karen is also survived by her brother Mike Stone and wife Tami, her niece Tia, nephew Ted and great nephew Kage. Karen is without a doubt rejoicing in heaven with her husband, her parents, her grandchildren Destinee Starr and Braston Starr and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Karen graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1973. Karen dedicated 39 years of her career to what is now East Central Oklahoma Electric Cooperative in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was so proud of her accomplishments and her service over the years. Karen truly cherished her friends and work family, especially her best friend Tamara Hawkins. Karen loved Tamara like a sister and was so proud of Tamara and Tony. Karen was an active member of The Church at Battle Creek in Broken Arrow for decades. She loved to serve and volunteer her free time with the church family that was so very special to her. She enjoyed being part of the bookstore and coffee bar team. She made so many cherished connections through bible studies, women’s groups, community groups and service teams. Karen gave her heart to Jesus at a young age and she lived her life in a way that everyone knew where she stood. She would share her beliefs and respect those of others even if they were different. Karen had a soft spot in her heart for our veterans, kids and animals. Karen loved to support mission and outreach programs that shared the Gospel around the world. Karen dreamed of going with the church to Egypt one day. Karen lived to share her love and compassion with others. Karen was a remarkable woman and has left a huge impact on the lives she touched during her life.
