Karl Allen Smith's Obituary
Karl A. Smith, husband to Patricia Annette Zongker-Smith, passed away the morning of Jan. 10, 2015. A navy vet of 10 years, Karl served his country with honor. His greatest happiness was his loving family, for whom he was a fiercely loyal and steadfast companion.Karl enjoyed collecting firearms and studying military history, and he kept himself busy with golf and hunting. He had a passion for discussion and spending time with friends and family.Among his happiest accomplishments was building his dream home: a log home that he and his wife spent most of their free time working on. Meant as a gathering place for the family, the home was still nearing completion when Karl passed away, though he realized that dream come true of going to sleep in the house he and his loved ones had made a home and waking up in eternity.He worked at Aircraft Accessories for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife; Patricia Annette Zongker-Smith, mother; Ethel Butler, son; Karl Smith II, Stepson; Jason Zongker and wife Stephanie; Stepson Jeremy Zongker and wife Jeanette, stepdaughter; Ashley Zongker-Brown and husband Chancery, and grandchildren; Terrin Smith, Caitlin Smith, Jamie Zongker, Austin Zongker, Sierra Zongker, Katrina Zongker, Alyssa Zongker, Starla Brown, and Elsie Zongker-Brown.Karl will be fondly remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.Family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 14, 2015, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Room.Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visiation Room.A celebration of life service will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
