Kate Welch's Obituary
Kate Welch, 94, of Tulsa, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014. She was born in Westville, Oklahoma on February 9, 1920, the son of Samuel Brice and Alice (Langley) Welch. Kate moved to Tulsa around 1942 with her two sons. She worked at Douglas Aircraft, and was a waitress at Denny’s restaurant for many years. After her retirement, she became a caregiver for the elderly. Kate found much joy and fulfillment in helping others. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK, and enjoyed cooking, Family dinners on Sunday’s, sewing and quilt making. She is survived by her son, Bob Welch, of Tulsa, daughter in law, Lavonda Welch, of Broken Arrow, 6 grandchildren, Donnie Welch, Ricky Welch, Michael Welch, Ronnie Welch, Susan Runge, and Brice Welch, 13 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Welch.
