I met Kathee Marlene at the Empire skating rink when we were around 12-13 years old. We became fast friends and I couldn’t tell you how many times I spent the night with her or her at my house. Her Mom would take us in her big gold Cadillac skating every Friday night. Her little grandma lived with them at the time. She was a pistol, that lady was. She was no bigger than a minute, just like Kathee & her Mom were. One of my best memories of us growing up was spending the night at her house where she had 2 bedrooms, one with a bed and the other one was just a fun room with connection couches and radio speakers mounted inside them. We lost touch after a few years and then this happened - My daughter & son-in-law were at Kathee & Pat’s place ( the S-I-L worked with Pat at the time) and my day called me snd wanted me to meet her friend, Kathee. Talk about a shock, when I got there, Kathee & I hugged and talked about the ‘old’ days. Daughter was so surprised that I already knew her ‘new’ friend!
Jade, I adored your Mom. She was something else. I’m truly sorry for your loss. God took her home way too soon.
