Katherine Jane Buckner's Obituary
Katherine Jane Cindle Buckner was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 9, 1974 to Robert and Constance Cindle. She passed away on July 7, 2024 after a four-year battle with leiomyosarcoma.
Kathy attended Union Public Schools from kindergarten until her graduation in 1992. She earned a bachelors degree in elementary education and a masters degree in library media and information technology, both with honors, from Northeastern State University.
Kathy served 22 years as a teacher, and later librarian, for Union and Broken Arrow Public Schools. She earned a national board certification in early childhood education in 2006. In 2023 she was named Teacher of the Year at Vandever Elementary School.
Kathy is survived by her parents, her sister Kimberly Cindle Rieger, her husband Morgen Buckner, and three children, her son Ryan and his wife Kristen, and daughters Emily and Majken.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kathy’s honor to the Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation Read to Succeed program.
