Katherine "Becky" Drew's Obituary
Katherine “Becky” Elizabeth Drew, 97 of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, March 25, 2019 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Becky was born September 28, 1921 in Miami, Oklahoma to her parents, James Samuel Brown and Cordelia Elizabeth Hulsey Brown. She married the love of her life, Walter Drew on October 5, 1945 in Miami, Oklahoma and they shared in over 72 years together before his passing in 2017.During the war Becky helped build airplanes for the war effort along with many other military men’s wives. She enjoyed gardening, including flowers and vegetables and always had a beautiful garden. She loved to crochet, knit, needlepoint, and quilt. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Glenhaven Free Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One beautiful thing Becky said was that when Walter had the garden ready, she was going to go.Becky is survived by two sons, Alan Drew and wife Joyce of Stillwater, Oklahoma and James A. Townland and wife Meli of Tacoma, Washington; grandson, Wes Townland and wife Michele of Wenatchee, Washington; four granddaughters, Cheryl Childs and husband Alan of Canada, Brea Rosson and husband Kevin of Lewisville, Texas, Tiffany Pectol and husband Jerrod of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Lacey Love and Taran of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Cordelia Brown; husband, Walter Drew; son, Roger K. Drew; brother, Marion Brown; three sisters, Edith Brown, Mildred Coulter, and Peggy Brown; and one great-grandson, Matthew Townland.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.The family has requested memorials be made to Samaritan’s Purse in Becky’s honor by going to: www.samaritanspurse.org
