Katherine Marie Witt's Obituary
Katherine "Kathy" Witt, age 63, passed away on October 21, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 23, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathy was the cherished daughter of James Shuttler and Barbara (Ormsbee) McGowan.
Kathy was known for her caring heart and dedication to helping others. Her passion for life shone brightly through her many interests. She had a particular fondness for amethyst and preferred silver over gold. Joy was her favorite word, and she made it a point to incorporate joy into her daily life, bringing happiness to those around her.
On June 2, 1979, Kathy married the love of her life, Clem Witt. Their 45-year marriage was a testament to their deep love, laughter, and the beautiful legacy they created together.
A lover of frogs and an avid gardener, Kathy found solace and satisfaction in nurturing both plants and relationships. Her most treasured moments were spent playing with her grandchildren and creating lasting memories with her family. Kathy's love for baking was unmatched, especially during the holiday season; Thanksgiving was her favorite, where she delighted in sharing her homemade treats with loved ones.
Kathy was also an adventurous spirit, having traveled to five of the seven continents. One of her most memorable experiences was a family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida in 2021, where she created unforgettable memories with her entire family.
Kathy leaves behind a loving family and countless friends who will remember her warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit. She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her twin daughters Amanda and Jenny Witt; parents James Schuttler and Barbara McGowen; and step father Barre McGowen.
Kathy is survived by her husband Clem Witt; children Melinda Witt, Ezra Witt and wife Brooke, and Teresa Leikvold and husband Chris; grandchildren Gemma Witt, Lyzabeth Witt, Finley Witt, Ashtyn Witt, Judah Witt; siblings David Schuttler and wife Kellie; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will take place Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4pm till 7pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any independent florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 3:00 PM on Friday, October 25th, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Kathy's visitation in a timely manner. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 10:00 at The Park Church of Christ located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pastor Mitch Wilburn will be officiating. If you are able please wear teal or joyous colors in honor of Kathy.
