Kathleen Phipps' Obituary
Kathleen Nancy Phipps, age 72, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, reuniting in spirit with her beloved husband Glenn on August 27, 2025.
Born on March 4, 1953, in Illinois, Kathleen lived a life full of dedication, creativity, and joy. She earned her certification as an electrical technician and later completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing. For most of her career, she served as a supervising nurse, where she devoted herself to caring for veterans with compassion and skill. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathleen’s heart thrived in art, creativity, and imagination. She painted vibrant works, sewed countless creations, and filled her world with wonder, especially her love of fairies and the mystical world of the Fay. Kathleen’s shelves overflowed with books, reflecting her insatiable curiosity and love of learning. Known for her quirky and joyful spirit, she could be found dancing across a movie theater lobby, bursting into song, or browsing garage sales with friends. Her happiest adventures included Renaissance Fairs with Glenn, where their love and laughter were unmistakable. On October 28, 1978, Kathleen married the love of her life, Glenn Phipps, in a picturesque mountainside ceremony. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love story spanned nearly five decades until Glenn’s passing in 2024. Kathleen’s passing brings comfort in knowing she is reunited with him once more. She is survived by her brother, Dale; her three children, Meredith, Christine, and Jeremy; as well as ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, creativity, and curiosity. In her final days, Kathleen continued to embrace the things that brought her joy—coloring fairies, sharing recipes, listening to audiobooks, and connecting with others through stories. She left this world with few regrets, her only wistful thought being that she never had the chance to try a crab roll. Kathleen’s life will be celebrated not only through her family and friends, but through every piece of art, recipe, and joyful memory she shared with those who loved her most.
