Kathleen Ann Wheeler's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Schroeder Wheeler, born December 20, 1938, to Ervan Henry and Dorothy Bernice Going Schroeder in Enid, OK. She was the 3rd child of five. Her first home was on a wheat farm of Douglas, OK. Kathy attended primary school at a Lutheran Parochial School in Fairmont, OK, attended secondary school at St. John’s Lutheran Academy in Winfield, KS, and her Junior and Senior year she attended Enid High School, Enid OK, and graduated 1956. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1956, and Kathy gave birth to Deborah Susan on March 29th, 1957. She married Bobby Glenn Wheeler in 1961 and gave birth to Robert Glenn on December 1, 1961, Michael Lee on December 3, 1962 and Cassie Ann on December 12, 1970. She raised her children in Mulvane and then Derby, Kansas. Kathy began her career in the Aircraft Industry, IFR, Lear Jet and then Boeing in 1972. With Boeing, she received security clearance to work on the space program, Air Force One and other top secret projects for the government. She received many awards for her completion of projects and and acknowledged by her piers for her excellence in work ethics and supervisory skills. Kathy retired from Boeing after 33 years of faithful service in 2005, and spent her retirement years in Broken Arrow and Owasso, Oklahoma. Kathy had a few hobbies, which included her many years of bowling. She received many patches for picking up the impossible splits, and scoring over 200. Team trophies for league play and tournament play. She enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, vacationing with her elderly parents, but her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren by taking them shopping for clothes and toys. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Charles Schroeder, Eugene Schroeder and David Schroeder, her son: Robert Glenn Wheeler, and her daughter: Cassie Ann Wheeler McKenney. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Davis-Mikles and husband John of Owasso, Oklahoma, son, Michael Lee Wheeler of Wichita, sister, Judy Wilson of Salina, Oklahoma, her 13 grandchildren, 26 great0grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. You are loved. You are missed. You are not forgotten. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Suites, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Ceremony Service will be held 12:30 pm, Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
