We could always count on Mom to chair the Girl Scout Cookie Drive for all her girls, Team Mom or Room Mom, whatever she could do to help her kids. She later moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she retired from St. Mary of the Plains Hospital, working in the Community Relations department. She loved her time there, working with the hospital volunteers, playing Mrs. Clause at Christmas breakfasts, an Easter Bunny Helper and even modeling clothes in the hospital’s annual fundraising fashion show. After her retirement, Kathy returned to Tulsa, where she met her husband, Bud Yates. Kathy and Bud had many years together enjoying their time with each other, their kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Kathy’s love for service and volunteering continued at the Gift Shop at St. John Medical Center, a place that was very dear to her heart. Our Mother was an amazing woman whose smile and laughter was still bringing joy to the staff of Wood Manor Nursing Center in Claremore and her nurses from A-Vow Hospice, as well as all her family.
