Kathryn Susan Beeman's Obituary
Kathryn Susan Beeman, beloved mother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Victoria, Texas. She was born on April 13, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jacob Hannibal and Mildred Beatrice (Cohrs) Modar. She is survived by a son, Douglas Emerson Beeman and a daughter, Jennifer Augusta Beeman, a sister, Sharon Kay Modar, and three nephews and two nieces.
Kathryn pursued her education with curiosity and determination, earning a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from OSU, a master’s in Liberal Arts from OU, and a master's degree in English from OU—an uncommon and delightful combination that reflected her wide-ranging interests. She dedicated most of her professional life to teaching science at Crain Middle School, where she inspired countless students with patience, humor, and genuine enthusiasm for discovery. Her classroom was a place where young minds felt encouraged, supported, and seen.
Of all her accomplishments, Kathryn was proudest of being a mother. Her children were the greatest joy of her life. She poured her heart into raising them with love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion. She was, in every sense, an extraordinary mother.
Kathryn’s creativity and warmth extended into every corner of her life. She loved writing short stories, tending to her garden, sewing intricate quilt pieces, and cooking for the people she cherished—her M&M cookies were legendary among family and friends. Animals held a special place in her heart, and throughout her life she cared for many dogs and cats, each one receiving boundless affection.
In honor of Kathryn’s lifelong love for animals, the family invites anyone wishing to send flowers or monetary gifts to instead make a donation in her honor to Adopt A Pet in Victoria, Texas.
Kathryn will be laid to rest in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 20 near her parents and brother. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
Kathryn’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched—with kindness, creativity, and a gentle spirit that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
