Kathryn “Kathy” S. Ecker
August 2, 1952 – May 10, 2025
Kathryn “Kathy” S. Ecker passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 2, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Dureth and Alice Lorraine (Robinson) Hire. She spent her formative years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she attended Broken Arrow High School. During her early years, she found community and faith at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow.
In 1984, Kathy embarked on a dedicated career with Baker Hughes, where she worked for 30 years. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and ability to bring warmth into every space she entered.
Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Jack Ecker; her loving children, Billy G. and LaDonna Deatherage**,** Jackie and Heather Dodgen, Karri Lawson, and Amanda Ecker; and her cherished grandchildren, Morgan Schools, Tyler Deatherage, Hannah Wishard, Hanna Lawson, Tyler Dodgen, Dylan Dodgen, and Warren Dodgen. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dureth Hire and Alice Hire, as well as her brothers, Steve Hire and Mike Hire.
Kathy’s life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Her presence was a source of comfort to all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
Kathy will be deeply missed, but the love and kindness she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
