Kathryn Marie Spence's Obituary
Kathryn Marie (Eaton) Spence, born on October 5, 1961, in Festus, Missouri, passed away on September 14, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the cherished daughter of Evelyn Lucille (Shoemaker) Norris and James Norris.
Kathryn's journey through life was marked by many achievements and memorable moments. She graduated from New Edinburg High School and went on to forge a successful career as a Marketing Manager in the retail industry. Kathryn's dedication and creativity shone brightly in her professional life.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her two children, Jason, and Kassidy. On February 15, 2013, Kathryn met the love of her life, her boyfriend Wayne Bennett, who brought immense joy and happiness into her world. Kathryn's resilience and strength were evident throughout her life. As a child, she faced bullying, and in a moment of extraordinary courage, she stood up to her tormentors by climbing on a table and declaring, "These hands are licensed to kill." Her boldness left a permanent impression, causing the bullies to flee, unsure whether they feared her or simply her unique spirit.
Kathryn had a passion for life that was infectious. She found solace and joy in gardening, the beauty of music, the art of jewelry-making, and creative expressions of art. She had a zest for dancing and was known for her sassy yet sweet and loving personality—a true firecracker whose presence lit up any room. One of Kathryn's great joys was sharing adventures with her true love, Wayne. They shared the exhilaration of riding motorcycles together, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Evelyn Norris, her sister Rebecca Clanton, and her brother, Donnie Norris. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by Wayne Bennett, her life partner, stepfather James Norris, her children, Kassidy Spence, and Jason Eaton, as well as her daughter Brooke Bennett, son Mason Bennett, and daughter Bethanie Bennett. She is also survived by her siblings: Doug Candler and Nina Candler, Steve Candler and Gwen Candler, Mary Parker and Myles Parker, Jimmy Norris, Kimberly Griffin, Fred Burkardt and Karen Burkardt.
