Peard, Kathy Beth's Obituary
Kathy Beth Peard, 69, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 10, 2026.
Kathy was born on July 10, 1956, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Barbara and D’Arcy Shock. She graduated with honors from Ponca City High School in 1974 before attending Oklahoma State University, where she earned a double major in French and German. During her time at OSU, she also had the honor of practicing with the university orchestra, reflecting her deep love of music.
On May 20, 1989, Kathy married the love of her life, Jim Peard, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and shared joy.
Kathy began her professional career as a systems analyst with Cities Service in Tulsa, where she worked until 1989. She lived throughout Oklahoma, including Ponca City, Stillwater, Tulsa, and Broken Arrow.
A woman of many passions, Kathy found joy in playing the piano, dancing—especially swing dancing—traveling throughout Europe, reading, arts and crafts, and participating in Bible study and thoughtful conversations. She also dearly loved her two miniature schnauzers, Maddie and Mya.
Kathy was a devoted member of Rock Revival Church, where she shared her musical talents by playing piano with the worship team. She was also actively involved with Compassion International, where she fostered a young girl, and participated in civic life through her involvement with the National Republican Party, including work on the Ronald Reagan presidential campaign.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Jim Peard, and her brother, Chris Shock of Atlanta, Georgia, along with extended family and many dear friends who will cherish her memory.
A service honoring Kathy’s life will be officiated by Pastor Scott Olson. A family reception will be held on Monday, April 20, at Floral Haven following the service. Interment will also take place at Floral Haven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Endometriosis Association.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Scott and Dana Olson, Claire and Rodney Brown, Barbara Peard, Becky and Fred Lux, Chris Shock, the congregation of Rock Revival Church, and Donna and Jerry Hedgecock for their love, friendship, and support.
Kathy’s favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Kathy was a treasure—compassionate, warm, and full of light. She had a way of making those around her feel truly special, and her memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.
