Kay Lynn Wayne's Obituary
Kay L. Wayne, 71, passed away on April 23, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kay was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 17, 1944 to Carroll Dudley and Barbara (Lytle) Johnston, the youngest of two children. She attended school in Tulsa, OK where she was a 1963 graduate of Central High School. In March of 1963, she married Stephen C. Wayne, with whom she spent 52 wonderful years to the love of her life prior to her passing. Kay was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was known to her grandchildren as “Gram”. She was an avid traveler, painter, artist, scrap booker, and could be found more times than not behind the lens of a camera. She retired from PennWell Publishing after 38 years as a Graphics Illustrator, and was often referred to as the “Map Queen” She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Virginia Carroll Overcast. She is survived by her husband, her two children, Ronda Kay Wayne from Wellington, FL and Stephen C. Wayne, Jr., from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rose, Hannah Elizabeth, Jacob Lee, and Jett Cooper. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m at Floral Haven Chapel. www.floralhaven.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Assistance Program.
