Keith K. Kennedy's Obituary
Kennedy, Kenneth “Keith”, 66 passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2015. Keith was born on June 9, 1948 in Joplin, MO to Kenneth and Macel (Branch) Kennedy. He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1966 and worked in the explosives industry for 25 years before becoming the Cemetery Superintendent for Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK. where his legacy of hard work and love of the facility are visible today by many who never met him. He married his wife of 17 years, Linda (Recer) Kennedy on October 24, 1997. Keith was known for his vast knowledge of many things and was always a man of his word. Keith loved spending time on his boat at Grand Lake with family and friends sharing stories and laughter but Keith’s true passion was his family and for his many accomplishments he was most proud of his grandchildren who carry his proud legacy. Keith will be forever missed by all who knew him but his legacy of honesty and hard work remain the standard for those touched by his life. He is survived by his wife Linda, three sons Chris Kennedy and wife Tina, Curtis Kennedy and wife Angela both of Carl Junction, MO., Chris Martin and wife Dani of Tulsa, OK; Two brothers Bob Kennedy and wife Gail of Carl Junction, MO and Mark Kennedy and wife Denise of Tulsa, OK; sister Sue Simpson and husband Bill of Columbus KS.; Grandchildren Brittany, Shelby, Colton, Carter, Caitlyn, Mazie, Cohen and Ava; Great Grandson Trenton and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith is preceded in death by his parents and beloved dog “Buffy” A celebration of his life will be held at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 12:30 PM before returning home to Carl Junction for visitation on Tuesday May 19th at 6:00 PM and service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday the 20th at the Smithfield Christian Church at 7627 County Road 304, Carl Junction, MO.
