Keith Arlyn Phillips' Obituary
Phillips, Keith A. – 86, of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away on February 4, 2009 in Claremore. He was born on August 26, 1922 in Floyd, Iowa to Albert and Susan Phillips. He was a Postal Carrier for 27 years in California; and after his retirement from the United States Postal Service he had also worked several years at the J.M. Davis Gun Museum. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1946 in which he served in WWII in Germany. The beloved father, grandfather and husband was preceded in death by his parents; his sister: June; daughter: Yvonne and a grandson: Scott Phillips. Keith was the father of 8, survived by 7 children: Richard Phillips of Chester, Illinois, Rosemary Jones of Claremore, Oklahoma, Dawn Mejia and David Phillips of Claremore, Oklahoma, William Phillips of Catoosa, Lori Merrill of Penn Valley, California and Lisa Wiley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be on Sunday, 1:00-8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to any veteran’s organization.
