Kelly Lyn Barber Flippo's Obituary
Kelly Lyn Barber Flippo, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on July 7, 2024. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kelly was the beloved daughter of her adoptive parents, June, and Richard Barber.
Kelly spent her early years in Oklahoma City and later moved to Stillwater, where she attended junior high and high school. She pursued higher education at the University of Arizona, where she graduated before embarking on a successful career. Kelly served as a Financial Systems Project Manager at the Interpublic Group AD Company, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues.
On June 30, 1985, Kelly married Terry Vance Flippo, in Berkeley, CA. To this union, Kelly and Terry were blessed with one son: Maxwell Jackson. Kelly and Terry’s time together took them to various places, including Tulsa, San Francisco, and Alameda. Ultimately, Kelly and Terry decided they were better off being friends and parted ways on their own individual journeys. Kelly eventually settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and made it her home in 2010.
Kelly had a passion for reading and a love for cop shows. Her favorite movie, It's a Wonderful Life, was a testament to her optimistic spirit. Known for her great sense of humor and vivacious personality, Kelly was always the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her parents, June and Richard Barber, and her aunt, Pat Barber. Kelly is survived by her son, Max Flippo, his wife Cassandra, and their children Max Jr., Anthony, and Catalina Flippo. She is also survived by her brother Blair Barber, his wife Nancy Barber, and her Uncle Van Barber.
Kelly's vibrant spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
