Kelly Lee Wedel's Obituary
Kelly Lee Wedel, age 69, a cherished resident of Collinsville, OK, passed away on December 26th, 2023. Born on May 28, 1954, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Kelly took immense pride in her Native American Cherokee and Kiowa heritage. In 1980, she united in marriage with the love of her life, Steve Wedel. Kelly's life was a tapestry of joys and passions.
She found solace and delight in reading, and painting. A dedicated football enthusiast, she held a special place in her heart for OU. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the moments spent at Grand Lake, fishing, basking in the sun, and sipping on "Soda Pop."
Yet, above all, Kelly's deepest joy emanated from the bonds of family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her universe. Kelly's spirit was anchored by a profound and unwavering love of faith in the Lord, which infused her life with meaning and purpose. Holidays were particularly special for Kelly. Easter brought the joy of hiding eggs for her grandchildren and witnessing their excitement. However, her absolute favorite was Christmas, where her generosity knew no bounds. Kelly became legendary for showering her family and grandkids with so many gifts that there was scarcely room for anything else. Among her cherished holiday traditions was bringing her famous celery sticks to gatherings, leaving an indelible mark on every festive occasion. Kelly's legacy lives on through the warmth of her love, the joy she shared, and the memories she created with those she held dear. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her vibrant spirit and deep love of faith in the Lord.
