Kenneth R. Pearsall's Obituary
Kenneth R. Pearsall, age 79, of East Lansing, MI formerly, Addison, NY, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born January 11, 1937 in Sayre, PA to Roy and Mary Alta (Middaugh) Pearsall, the fourth of seven children. He graduated in 1955 from Addison High School and worked for various plumbing and heating contractors, and at Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post in the late 1960’s before starting his own business “Ken Pearsall Plumbing and Heating,” which he continued until his retirement. He also drove school bus for Addison Central Schools for over 20 years, becoming well loved by his passengers and their parents. In 1983, Ken and his wife Virginia purchased and renovated the Kozy Grove fishing camp on Lamoka Lake, and it quickly became a summer home for them and a small community of loyal campers and anglers for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Virginia (Snitchler) Pearsall; his parents; Brothers Earl, Charles, and Ralph, brothers and sisters-in-law Edward (Wilma) Ludlam, Elma June (Clarence) Harris, Evelyn (Earl) Pearsall, and Doreen (Floyd) Pearsall. His survivors include two sons, David (Patti) Pearsall of Broken Arrow, OK and Douglas (Nancy) Pearsall of East Lansing, MI; two grandchildren Connor and Ian Pearsall, both of East Lansing, MI; two brothers Edward (Donna) of Addison, NY and Floyd (Doreen) of Tuscon, AZ; one sister Elaine (John) Antonio of Painted Post, NY; sisters-in-law Wilma (Ed) Ludlam of Johnson City, NY; Betty Lou (Ralph) Pearsall of Watkins Glen, NY; and brother-in-law Clarence (Elma June) Harris of Whitney Point, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Addison for over 50 years and served for several years as an Elder. He loved playing games, bowling, reading books, fishing, hunting, and helping to restore airplanes at the National Warplane Museum. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26 at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 5 Church St. Addison, NY. Arrangements are being made by the family. In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Mr. Pearsall may do so with memorial contributions to The First Presbyterian Church of Addison, NY or to the Nature Conservancy (www.Nature.org).
