Kenneth Peterson's Obituary
Kenneth Eugene Peterson, 96 of Beggs, Oklahoma passed from this life in Monday, October 2, 2019 in a Tulsa Hospital with friends by his side. He was born on June 16, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents. He married the love of his life, Virginia Lea Peterson who preceded him in death.Kenneth joined the United States Air Force in 1943, at the age of 19. He served in World War II and served in China, Berma and India. He received several medals and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a very spiritual man and became a Christian at the age of 15. He was a Sunday school teacher for teenagers at the First Baptist Church in Beggs, Oklahoma and also served as a church greeter. He retired from Carter Oil Company and Gates Hardware Wholesale Company. After his retirement he was a volunteer at Hillcrest Medical Center. Kenneth was very proud of his yard. He spent many hours making his yard the most immaculate around, in fact he has “His and Her” riding lawn mowersKenneth is survived by one sister, Donna Raye McAllister of Springfield, Missouri; special friends, The Hall Family; three nieces; and a host of friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Lea Peterson, his parents, and all of his siblings except Donna.Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Beggs, 110 West 5th Avenue, Beggs, Oklahoma 74421. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. following the services at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Virginia.The family has requested memorials be made in Kenneth’s honor to Oklahoma Warrior Honor Flight, P.O. Box 375, Colcord, Oklahoma 74338.
