Kenneth E. Yarbrough's Obituary
The world lost a vibrant soul on Saturday, December 7, 2024, when Kenneth E. Yarbrough, a wonderful husband and father, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kenneth entered the world on September 17, 1935, in Jennings, Oklahoma and embraced life to the fullness.
A proud Navy veteran, Kenneth dedicated 40 years to American Airlines working various positions and retired as an inspector.
On February 14, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kenneth married the love of his life, Joanne Yarbrough. Together, they lit up dance floors, sharing countless moments of joy, dances and laughter. His passions didn't stop there; he delighted in music, sports, and cooking, bringing warmth and flavor to every gathering.
Kenneth spent three years as commander of the American Legion Post 308 and contributing as a past member of the Moose Lodge. He found joy in karaoke nights, cheering on his favorite golf and football teams, and being in the presence of his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his son Tony Yarbrough; parents Joseph Yarbrough and Rosella (Smith) Yarbrough; and his brothers Mervil, Virgil, and Bobbie Yarbrough.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Joanne Yarbrough and his first wife, Yvonne Yarbrough; children Sandi Roop and her husband David, Cody Yarbrough and his wife Norma, Barbara Bridges and her husband Mike, Brett McGinnis and his wife Angela; grandchildren Mistie Hughes and her husband Adam, Beau Boerstler and his wife Bri, James Ferguson, Kenneth Mashon Yarbrough and his wife Christine, Lillie Yarbrough, Casey Williamson and her partner Alyssa, Andrew Roop and his wife Courtney, Ashley Collin and her husband Max, Chad Elliot and his wife Rebecca, Kristy Grosso and her husband Brian, and Addie Long; and numerous great grandchildren. Kenneth’s legacy of love and laughter lives on in his family and all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of Kenneth's remarkable life will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Kathy Morris. He will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of St. Paul. Those wishing to send flowers for the service may do so by contacting Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Independent florists are kindly asked to deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 2:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2024, to ensure proper display for Kenneth’s visitation.
