Mr. and Mrs. Aud and my sweet Kayla, I am heartbroken for each of you. I not only thank Kolby for his service but each of you as well. When one serves so do the family members. The Odell family is lifting you up in daily prayers. We ask that God wrap his loving arms around you, hold you tight and comfort you. May he also fill your broken hearts with joyous memories of your son and brother.Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Rhonda, Cary, Kayla and extended family, My heart and prayers are with you all as you face the loss of sweet Kolby. During his eighth grade year he was an office aide for us in the principal’s office. He was such a wonderful role model for other students, so respectful and kind to everyone. His impish smile would light up my day when he was around. May God bless you all, and give you comfort in your time of need. Sending love and prayers.
Please accept my sincere condolences. May our Lord grant you peace, love and confidence in knowing He is caring for Kolby.
Kolby will be physically missed, but our memories of this special child of God will live forever in our hearts.
I had the pleasure of serving with Kolby in 4th Platoon during Charlie Company’s deployment to Afghanistan. Kolby was an outstanding NCO, holding his Marines to the standard over months of monotonous post standing. What I will remember most about Kolby was his capacity to complete even the oddest of jobs. From siphoning fuel from a gas can when our hand pump broke, to using a forklift to offload pallets from helicopters, Kolby got it done. These tasks were not in his job description, but he did them with pride, often when nobody else could or was willing that do them. I will be forever grateful for the contributions he made to our platoon. He was good man and will be missed.
It was a pleasure to serve with Aud. Not only was he a solid boot but also a very competent senior Marine. I think more importantly he cared about the guys who he understood and had as friends. I know he always treated me as a brother even after I had gone off the rails. You are missed and loved man. Always got a spot to drink in PH 2/2
My heart aches and I pray for your family’s healing. I have such fond memories of goofing around at church or after school with you that I will cherish forever. Rest easy buddy. See you again someday. Xoxo
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I want to thank Kolby for his service to our country and to Cary and Rhonda for raising such a fine young man. May God grant you peace in this time of such sorrow.
There’s one thing I’ll always remember, that bright smile that you would never lose no matter what was going on. You are a good friend of mine. Although our lives went different ways and I’m thousands of miles away, you’ll always be in my mind.
I’m sorry to hear of Kolby’s death, and send my love and prayers to you, Cary, Rhonda and Kayla. I pray for your peace and comfort in days to come.
