I could write a book about what LaReta means to me; she and Reece were so special and endearing to me. Instead, I'm going to share a little of what I learned from LaReta:
1. Keep Jesus in your heart and He will guide you all your days.
2. God brings people into our lives to love us, to help us, to guide us, and to test us. LaReta did all of these for me.
3. LaReta taught me to be a good cook: taught me to fix her chicken tetrazzini, cinnamon rolls, and pies and a whole lot more! She taught me that I can show God through me in many ways, one of which is cooking for others. I still love to cook and bake for others.
4. LaReta taught me love is everything. And if we have the love of Jesus in us, we have everything we need. So, we just need to show that love to everyone we meet, just as Jesus did.
5. LaReta once told me she never understood what true love really was and how powerful it was until Rachel Morrel came into her life. Rachel taught LaReta what love really looked like . I love that.
6. When riding in the car with LaReta, just smile and hang on. She drove fast and talked nonstop. I miss those rides with her to the store or a restaurant. Good memories.
7. I could talk to LaReta about anything. I mean ANYTHING! She didn't pass judgment, just loved me, often pulling out her Bible to share a scripture or ten with me.
I love LaReta Morrel, always will. And I look forward to hugging her and Reece in heaven one day.
