Larry Eugene Brannon's Obituary
Larry Eugene Brannon, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, was born Wednesday, November 5, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his loving parents Marvin & Betty Jean Brannon; he went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Larry was a lifelong resident of the Tulsa area. After serving his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army, he returned to Tulsa, serving his community for over twenty years as a Tulsa Police Officer. After his service, Larry became a computer programmer in the petroleum industry until his retirement. In Larry’s free time he loved being outdoors hunting, hiking, biking and especially fishing for trout while taking in nature’s beauty all around him. But what Larry truly enjoyed most of all were the memories he shared with his family and friends whom he loved very dearly. Fond memories of Larry will always be cherished by those who had their lives touched by him. The past few years of Larry’s life have been spent cherishing his retirement, traveling around with his cousin Beverly and enjoying the islands of Hawaii, mountains of Colorado, hills of the Ozarks (and every casino in between.) He had opportunities snagging tilapia in Phoenix and hauling in huge sturgeon in Canada. His children remember the many family reunions to Grand Lake and Horseshoe Bend where hundreds of pounds of catfish and sand bass have been added to the freezers. Larry has left a legacy through his sons, who continue to experience all that life has to offer after having a taste from their dad. Larry is preceded in death by his loving father, Marvin L. Brannon. He is survived by his loving mother, Betty Jean Brannon; his two loving sons, Scot Brannon and Chris Brannon; his dearly loved grandchildren, Natalee Brannon, Skyler Brannon & wife Sharlene, Jerikia Bartlett, Audrie Helms; his beloved great-grandchildren, Ashley Brannon and Aiden Varnell; his loving siblings, Linda Gibson & husband Randy, Jerry Brannon, and Mary Ruth Udstuen & husband David; and many other loving family members & friends.
