Larry Calhoun's Obituary
Larry was born December 30, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri to C.C. Calhoun and Nettie (Fry) Calhoun. He passed away peacefully at his home early morning, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, eight months and eight days with Alzheimer’s disease.He was a Licensed Plumber for Hale and Calhoun Plumbing for several years in the Tulsa area. Larry also worked for eight years with Hilti, Inc. as a Security Guard before his retirement in 2008.Larry is preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Nettie Calhoun; sister, Shirley Wiesinger; brother, Donald Lee Calhoun; and late wife June (Windham) Calhoun in 2002. Larry is survived by his wife Betty Scott- Calhoun of the home; daughter Sandy Ferrill and husband David of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Bonus children, Tammie Cobble and husband Kelly of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Bill Scott, Jr. and wife Jesse of Carthage, Missouri, Jacob Scott II and fiance Larissa Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Grandchildren Matthew Ferrill of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cody Ferrill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Bonus grandchildren, Ryan Erb and husband Dan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Caroline Stalsworth and husband, Chase of Newcastle, OK, Kaitlyn Cobble, of Raleigh, NC, Rafe Scott of Miami, OK, Nacona Scott of Miami, OK, Brittany Haydock of Broken Arrow, OK, Megan Coats, of Broken Arrow, OK, Drayke Thompson of Broken Arrow, OK; Great Grandchildren Oden Ferrill of Coweta, OK, Haley Ray Porter and Avery Lee Porter of Broken Arrow, OK, Nathan Isaiah Erb and Millie Kathryn Erb of Edmond, OK, and Jett Michael Stalsworth of Newcastle, OK.Visitation will take place at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, from 5 pm – 8 pm.Celebration of Life services will be held at Floral Haven Chapel on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11 am in the Floral Haven Rose Chapel.The family is requesting Random Acts of Kindness in Lieu of flowers or donations to Rose Rock Hospice who were amazing care giving angles during Larry’s last months on this earth.
