Larry Lee Eitelman's Obituary
Larry Lee Eitelman was born January 31, 1935 in El Reno OK. He died April 22, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. He was the only child of George & Louise Eitelman. When Larry was three the family moved to Sentinel OK where his parents owned a 5 & 10 cent Store for 20 years.Larry graduated Salutatorian of Sentinel High School class of 1953. He attended Oklahoma A & M College (OSU) where he belonged to the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Larry earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a 2nd Lt. Commission in ROTC in 1958. He served in the Army Reserves for 16 years achieving the rank of Major.Larry married Linda Lehman in 1959 and they were blessed with two daughters, Robin and Holly.Larry worked in the Tube Finning business for many years designing and innovating. When most people started slowing down, Larry began a new career in the geothermal industry. He began designing, teaching and promoting ground source heat and cooling systems. He traveled the US and Canada helping many get started in the technology.Larry was a lifetime member of the Sand Springs Sportsman Club. A favorite pastime was shooting skeet and loading shells. He held most offices in the club and was on the board many years.He was a longtime motorcycle enthusiast and member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association until Alzheimer’s Disease took its toll. Larry also was a jazz aficionado.Larry was a member of Will Rogers United Methodist Church.Everyone who ever met Larry had a funny story to tell about him or pass on one he told them. He inherited his father’s zany wit.Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his step-son Andrew Ingmire, and son-in-law Jimmy Ingmire.He is survived by his wife JoAnn Roxbury; his daughters Robin Corley and her husband Scott of Oak Harbor WA and Holly Scoular and her husband George of Cypress TX; stepdaughters Laura Donaldson of Denton TX, Shelly Ingmire of Bartlesville OK, and Shari Ingmire of Denton TX; Nine grandchildren, Kenneth Stearns and his wife Ashley of Owasso OK, Korey Stearns of Choctaw OK, Mirren, Corinne, and Iain Scoular of Cypress TX, Cole and Madison Ingmire of Bartlesville OK, Jennifer Tips and her husband JJ of Lake Dallas TX, and Nicole Johnson of Denton TX; two great-grandchildren Fletcher and Ellie.Visitation will be Monday April 25 4:00pm-8:00pm, at the Floral Haven Visitation Suites, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Funeral Service will be; Tuesday April 26 at 12:30pm in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
