Larry Dean Ethridge's Obituary
Larry D. Ethridge passed away on February 24, 2020, at the age of 85. A life-long resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, born to Fred and Lillian Faye Ethridge on November 6, 1934. He was raised with three siblings by a single mother.
He worked in a machine shop while attending and graduating from Tulsa Central High School. He was a proud member of the Class of ’53 and attended many reunions. Larry attended the University of Tulsa and in 1955 joined the U. S. Marine Corps and stationed part of the time on the aircraft carrier, USS Essex, and got the travel around the world.
On December, 21, 1957, he and Jane Ketchum, were married, and observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2019. They are parents of sons, Stuart and Scott, and daughter-in-law Kay.
He has always been interested in sports, golfing, and coaching basketball and baseball teams, both school and church leagues. He has coached both sons as well.
Larry started their business, Quality Material Handling Company, in 1984. A lot of determination and strong will, as well as an outgoing personality, have helped make it a success. After he and Jane retired from the business, their son, Scott, is successfully running it.
He was preceded in death by parents, three siblings, and son, Stuart Ethridge.
We will miss the laughing, teasing, praying, ice cream and milk shakes lover, and God loving man. Being a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are assured of being with him again – what a party that will be.
Memorial Service is Friday, February 28, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at Skelly Drive Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK. Visitation is Thursday, February 27, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK.
