Larry Joe Hopkins, aged 80, passed away on December 9, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on March 25, 1944, Larry was known for his robust dedication to his family, his faith, and his community.
A lifelong resident of Kansas until his high school years at McLain, in Tulsa ok Larry was deeply involved in his community through various activities. Notably, he devoted much of his time to prison ministry, reflecting his strong Christian faith. Larry was a regular attendee at Spring of Grace and Sequoia Hills Baptist Church, where he was cherished for his commitment and service.
Larry's personal life was enriched by his love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and camping. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Zachery His hobbies also included participating in church and community activities, which were central to his way of life.
Larry was a beloved father to Kristi , father-in-law to Mick Peterman, and a proud grandfather to Zachery. He also leaves behind his niece Angela Llewellyn, nephew Daniel Llewellyn, and niece Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Hopkins, his parents Ruth and Robert Hopkins, and his twin brother Terry Hopkins.
In lieu of services, those who wish to honor Larry's memory can make contributions to Mingo Valley Christian School, an institution reflecting his values and dedication to the nurturing of young Christian minds into godly woman and men.
