Larry Jean Horner's Obituary
Larry Jean Horner (Spanky)
Larry Jean Horner, lovingly known as Spanky, passed away peacefully at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at the age of 64. His departure leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory remains deeply rooted in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Born on March 5th, 1962, in Ft. Riley, Kansas, Larry was the son of Larry Albert Horner and Donna Jean Horner. He grew up with a strong sense of loyalty, grit, and humor—traits that stayed with him throughout his life. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1981, receiving an honorable discharge. His service shaped his character and remained a point of pride.
Larry built a long and dedicated career with Becco Contractors, where he worked from 2007 until 2024. His work ethic was unwavering, and he was known for his reliability, skill, and willingness to lend a hand.
On August 5th, 2022, in Jenks, Oklahoma, Larry married the love of his life, Robbie Green. Their bond was one of deep companionship, laughter, and shared strength. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.
Over the years, Larry called many places home—Sperry, Bixby, Liberty Mounds, and Tulsa—each community leaving its mark on him, and he on them. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: fishing on a quiet morning, working on cars, riding motorcycles, cooking for those he cared about, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs with unwavering enthusiasm. He loved his hobbies, but more than anything, he loved his people.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Larry A. Horner; his mother, Donna Horner; and Ramona Lee Horner.
He is survived by his wife, Robbie Renea Green; his children Amber Casillas (Dennis), Chauntelle Brocker, Christopher Ashlock, Sean Horner, Dakota Freeman (stepson), and Lauren Garcia (Celso). He also leaves behind his sisters, Lola Marie Horner‑Sitzman and Collette Horner; his grandchildren Ryan Battle, Jasmine Hamilton, Jeremy Hamilton, Jack Ashlock, Jacob Ashlock, Bently Ashlock, Jordan Horner, Cody Horner, Jace Freeman, and Lola‑Ann Garcia; his great‑grandchildren Kylon Hamilton and Kenji Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews including Danielle Sitzman, Clinton Sitzman, Randall Teague, Casey Lane, Jessi Stanton, Jamie Reese, and Roxanne Horner.
Each of them carries a piece of his spirit forward.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on July 4th, with time and location to be announced. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
The storm has passed, the tides are still, No more the climb of the weary hill. The heavy breath, the tired frame, Are gone like smoke, or a dying flame. You are the rustle in the autumn leaves, The morning mist that the valley weaves. No longer bound by the weight of care, You’ve found your peace in the open air. We hold the light of the life you led, With words of love that remain unsaid. For though you’ve left the world of pain, In every sunrise, you remain.
