Larry Lee Smith's Obituary
Larry Lee Smith of Sand Springs passed away suddenly on April 8, 2017 in the arms of his wife and daughter.He is survived by his beloved wife of forty three years, Wanda, his precious daughter Tricia Smith Belz, her husband Hank, and his granddaughter Sophie Lee-Nguyen, who was his pride and joy. Born December 7, 1946 in Ponca City he is also survived by his sisters, Tammy Smith of Blackwell, Sue Brown, Debbie Slavens, Judy Austin, Joyce Dawkins and his brother Mike Smith from Tonkawa and Paula Smith from Tulsa.Larry also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, his best friends Joe and Jeannie Lewallen and many other friends.His “fur baby”, Buddy will miss him dearly.He was proceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita Smith, his son Larry Lee Smith, II, brothers H.E., Joe and a sister Kathy.Larry served his country proudly as a Staff Sargent in the United State Air Force and was a decorated Viet Nam veteran.Larry retired from Southwestern Bell / AT&T in 2007.He loved his family very much and devoted his entire life to them. He was an amazing husband, dad, granddad, brother and uncle. He had an impact on so many lives. He loved travelling and especially watching Sophie and her dance team where he was also known as “Granddad”. He will be missed terribly and will be in our hearts forever!A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Floral Haven, 6420 South 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK 74012 with a reception to follow.There will be a graveside service at the Tonkawa I.O.O.F. cemetery on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2:00pm.Donations can be made to the USO of Missouri : Calling All Patriots on behalf of Larry Lee Smith
