Celebrating the Life of Larry "Pookie" Charles Rhodes Jr
April 30, 1979 – December 1, 2024
With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Larry "Pookie" Charles Rhodes Jr, who graced us with his warmth and spirit from April 30, 1979 to December 1, 2024.
Born and passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larry was a laid-back, quiet, and honest man who cherished his family above all else. Always eager to learn new things, he had a passion for comic books, music, and football. His love for the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched, and he loved traveling to Dallas, Texas, to cheer on his favorite team.
Larry dedicated 15 years of his career in Hazmat at UPS, bringing smiles to countless faces along his routes. He later embarked on a new journey with USPS, continuing to serve his community before he fell ill.
Believing himself to be the best cook ever, Larry shared his culinary passions with his sister Bre Jackson, creating delicious meals and unforgettable moments together. He was a protector and a devoted family man who especially loved his wife, Terell Rhodes.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Terell; his mother, Janet Burch-Oliver; his siblings, Bre Jackson, Lakeisha Oliver, Previn Oliver, and Antionette Oliver, his uncle Ruben Oliver; and his beloved pet, Kash.
As we remember Larry, we celebrate the joy he brought into our lives—the laughter, the love, and the countless happy memories that will continue to warm our hearts.
