Larry Richard Sharp's Obituary
Larry Richard Sharp passed away Monday morning, June 24th, 2024, in Tulsa, OK. He was born February 26th, 1946, in Rapid City, SD, the son of Robert Sharp and Viola (Vicki) Preuss Sharp. He was raised in the majestic Black Hills, in Rapid City, SD by Vicki and his stepfather, Bob Nuss. He later moved to Tulsa, OK where he served the Tulsa community as a police officer and police sergeant. He served on the Tulsa Police Department for 33 years, during which time he earned the title of Sharpshooter. He retired from the Tulsa Police Department in 1999, after which he continued to serve the Tulsa community as a retired police officer and security guard, eventually joining TTCU, which he protected for 19 years until he retired in 2023. Larry was an avid fan of classic cars and motorcycles, quality crosswords which he worked every day, reading, good wine, and he enjoyed playing poker and card games. He had a huge soft spot for his beloved pets, especially his German-breed dogs - German Shepherds and Pomeranians. He was always proud of his work as an officer of the law, his yard, his well-nurtured trees and tomato plants, and his steaks. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, son Erik and daughter Donna Michelle (Micki) Egbert. He is survived by his wife, Charlie, three children, Jessica, Rachel, and Allyson; 1 son-in-law, Todd Egbert, 2 grandchildren, Alexander Egbert (Jennifer) and Zackary Egbert; four great-grandchildren; siblings Thomas Nuss (Katherine) and Shelley Nuss, and 2 nieces, Claire Nuss and Colleen Nuss.
Larry’s celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, July 2nd at 12:30 at Floral Haven Funeral Home located at 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, OK, 74012.
