Born on September 23, 1922, in Lilbourn, Missouri, Laura’s life spanned over a century of profound change, yet she remained a constant source of joy and beauty to all who knew her.
In the 1940s, Laura was the epitome of glamour. She was one of the original glamour girls. Her beauty radiated from within, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her passion for gold jewelry was matched only by her love for music and the arts. A true socialite, Laura’s presence at gatherings was a guarantee of lively conversation and shared laughter.
Laura is survived by her children, Laura Ward and Harold Ward II, along with his wife Kycong Tran; grandchildren Lindsey Ward, Laura Ward, Victoria Ward, Allison Ward, Missy Birdsong-LeFlore, and Tabitha Skaggs; best friend Dorothy “Maimi” Brown; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish their memories together.
She is preceded in death by her parents; partners Glen Birdsong and Harold Ward; brothers John Winston, Tom Winston, and Benny Winston; sisters Betty Gadbois and Colleen Marsich, Laura leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be held dear by all who knew her.
