Lavon Forrest Poore, 85 of Tulsa, passed away on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. Lavon was born on December 13, 1939, in Maynard, Arkansas to Dan and Mary Poore.
On June 15, 1962, he married his sweetheart, Rebecca Watson. They went on to have 3 children, Christopher, Kimberly and Darren. He began his career at Jones Truck Lines in 1968. He worked there as a valued employee until the company closed its doors in 1991. He then moved his career to Beaver Express until his retirement in 2012.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and painting. He also enjoyed taking his family on road trips across America. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Mary Poore, his brothers Clarence and Cloyce Poore, and Grandson Caleb Poore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Poore, Siblings Bemiss Poore of Maynard, Arkansas and Eugenia Halterman of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Christopher and Tammy Poore of Fort Smith, Kimberly and Todd Wieneke of Fort Smith and Darren Poore of Tulsa. Grandchildren Nichole and Isaac Rogers, Camden and Caitlin Poore, Zachary and Solina Wieneke, Emily and Jimmy Lehman, Jaden and Jack Wieneke, Derek Poore, and 10 Great Grandchildren.
