I met Sonny and Shirley through Esta. They were both truly wonderful, unselfish people who would do anything for you.Sonny was always upbeat and wouldn't say a mean word about anyone. Even after he started having more health problems, he was always looking at the positives. He truly loved his extended family and that love was returned.Sonny enjoyed making tapes of some of his favorite songs for us. He will be missed by many.Carol Martin
Sonny was one of a kind. He found good in everyone and always had a kind word. When we worked together at Wonder Bread, he always came in the salesroom singing whether it was 4 AM the start of the day or at 5, 6 or 7 PM when he completed his deliveries for the day. He seemed to never have a "bad" day. He and his wife, Shirley, and my wife, Dianne, became close friends. Our wives worked together at Union Schools. They transported the "Special Education" students to school.In 1977, Sonny and I won s trip to Hawaii which sealed our wives' friendship.I could go on and on telling pleasing, happy stories about Sonny.He told me that "only" family called him Sonny. He must have had a large family because so many people called him Sonny.Rest in peace. I love you my friend.
I'm sorry for such a great loss. Mike Edwards (brother) had called to say he saw Uncle Sonny had passed away.We all send our love and prayers to all of you, especially at this time of the year.Each Christmas, I always think about the wonderful time we had at Aunt Shirley and Uncle Sonny's house.
