Obituary for Lawrence Bud Keel Jr.Born: January 17, 1924 Died: February 25, 2016 at age 92Larry graduated Classen High School in Oklahoma City in May 1942, and immediately enlisted in the Navy. In January 1943, after six months of training to become a fighter pilot, Larry was given a new opportunity and joined the PT Boat service where he served for the duration of WWII. After the war, Larry attended college, Oklahoma East Central College before transferring to Oklahoma University where he received a BS in Petroleum Engineering. Larry was later certified as a Professional Engineer and spent his career in the Oil & Gas industry primarily in Sales. He was proceeded in death by his father, Lawrence “Bud” Keel Sr., Agnes his mother, two brothers Ronald and Bernard and a sister Mary Ann. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Amy Gabbert (Ken) and sons James Adam (Peggy) and Terry Keel (LaDonna). Grandsons: Adam Gabbert (Ann), Andy Gabbert (Toni), Alan Gabbert (Dana), Brenton Keel (Becky) and granddaughters Sadie Adam Hillson and Telia Keel Montgomery (Matt) and fourteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 12, at 2:30 PM at St. Clement Catholic Church in Bixby, OK. Larry’s remains will be interred in the Veterans Field at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK.
