Leah Katharine “Kay” BrownKay Brown, 77, passed away Saturday, October 26th, 2013. She was born on February 20th, 1936, in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill W. Brown, in 2008, her mother, Leah Rush Roop, father Paul Fichthorn and step-father Gene C. Roop. Survived by sons Jeff, and wife Valerie, and Paul, grandchildren Rebecca and Jacob, her Tulsa and Texas cousins, and her OK and AZ nieces and nephews.She graduated from Tulsa Rogers in 1954. She married her junior-high sweetheart, Bill, in 1956. They were still sweethearts until Bill went to heaven in 2008.She worked at Siegfried Insurance in Tulsa before starting her family. When Bill began his State Farm Insurance agency, she worked with him for several years before becoming a homemaker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite church charity, or to the SPCA.“My Lord Jesus Christ, my precious family, a few special friends and my country are the most important loves in my life. In addition, I considered each one of my little dogs a gift from God and part of my family.Kay and Bill loved their sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren more than they ever dreamed possible, and they were so thankful they were blessed in their lives.Kay said that she loved her job working for Bill, but never got a promotion or raise because she laughingly said that he only paid her room and board.
