Lee Roy Archer's Obituary
Lee Roy Archer was born October 13, 1925 to Tomas Jefferson and Barbara Gess Archer in Buckhorn, Oklahoma. Lee Roy passed this life January 11, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended school at Buckhorn and Webber Falls, Oklahoma. Lee Roy served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 aboard the USS Missouri. On September 9, 1949, he married Betty Jo Lasson in Van Buren, Arkansas. Lee Roy was employed at Western Electric for about 30 years retiring in 1985. Lee Roy loved to hunt and fish; he was very good at shooting skeet. Even at the age of 90 he was still hunting. While working for Western Electric, Lee Roy and Betty traveled to about every town in Oklahoma; and some jobs took them out of state. Lee Roy and Betty made their home in Tulsa for about 60 years. Although they didn’t have children of their own, they absolutely loved their niece and nephew, Tammy and Teddy. Preceding Lee Roy in death was his beloved wife Betty on October 31, 2014; great-nephew Jarret Clark in 2006; his parents, Tomas and Barbara Archer; his two sisters, Annie and Pearl; his six brothers, Sylvester, John, Tom (Shorty), George (Fat), Vernon and Frank. Lee Roy is survived by his brother and sister in law, Eugene and Barbara Smithson; niece, Tammy and her husband Eric Slater; nephew, Teddy Smithson; he is also survived by nephew, Uless Archer; niece, Colleen Dixon and her husband Truman and their children; a special niece Jackie White and numerous other family members and friends. There will be a visitation Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
